ABOUT STRATEGIC CRISIS LEADERSHIP
An enterprise
wide framework to combat unexpected crisis is the need of the day.
Growing environmental factors force the business to identify the
vulnerabilities to map out possible crisis scenarios. This period
of economic crisis and recession warrant the need for restructuring
their organizations to get a competitive fit in the industry and
business.
Strategic Crisis Leadership involves high leverage skills that are
vital to corporate recovery in the midst of a disaster. Crisis leadership
skills are needed that define the crisis beyond the obvious, forecast
the intended and unintended consequences of decisions, anticipate
the effect of the crisis on impacted stakeholders, assess the impact
of the crisis on core assets, follow the values and guiding principles
of the organization.
Managing crisis and ambiguity requires strategic leaders who not
only provides a sense of direction but who can also build ownership
and alignment within their workgroup to implement change. Strategically
leading and handling a crisis entails making decisions across different
cultures, agencies, agendas, personalities and desires. Strategic
crisis leadership provides the vision and direction for the growth
and success of an organization. Crisis leadership is the art of
making the right ‘defining decisions’ and executing
at the right time.
Kalpatha ’09, the flagship
event of CET MBA presents the art of making defining decisions through
Strategic Crisis Leadership.
