Girish G. Vaidya

In his present role, Girish is working with the Infosys Board to develop an effective leadership pipeline. ILI which was ranked 2nd in Asia- Pacific (and 10th globally) in Fortune-Hewitt Leadership effectiveness survey is responsible for developing managerial and leadership skills of infoscions.

Girish joined Infosys as Senior Vice President and Head of Banking Business Unit (BBU) - since renamed Finacle Business Unit 2004 - in Jan 1999. Finacle, the only product unit in Infosys, saw tremendous growth under his leadership. He was a regular speaker at various international conferences on banking technology during his stint as Head of Finacle Business Unit. He transitioned out of the unit in October 2005 and joined Infosys Leadership Institute (ILI) in Feb. 2006. He looks after Leadership Development in ILI for the entire Infosys Group and works closely with the Infosys Board.
Prior to joining Infosys, Girish worked for almost 24 years with ANZ Grindlays Bank .He worked in all the units of the bank and different locations in India and abroad. He was head of Technology for the bank for South Asia. An engineering graduate of University of Bombay, Girish completed his PGDM from IIM Calcutta in 1975 (10th batch).

As the head of Infosys' Leadership Institute, he currently oversees the conceptualization, design and deployment of leadership development initiatives; and the design of tools for assessing leadership competencies.

Girish is frequently invited to speak at leadership development seminars hosted by various management institutes.
